This photo captures a pivotal chapter in Lauren Cyrus’s journey—a moment of transition from aspiration to action. Nearly a year ago, she co-emceed the opening stop of Vice President Kamala Harris’s Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour alongside Terrence J, marking her national debut as a media host and storyteller.
Since that milestone, Lauren has continued to expand her platform, serving as an emcee, correspondent, and creative collaborator with leading cultural institutions and brands. Her recent partnerships include:
Nike Yard Runners x POD Digital Media
LeBron James & Maverick Carter’s The Shop Uninterrupted HBCU Tour
Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Scholarship Award Ceremony
The Shawn Carter Foundation Bus Tour
TNT’s Legacy Classic Commercial Campaign
Invesco QQQ’s Legacy Classics Partnership Series
Each project reflects her commitment to intentional storytelling, cultural equity, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities in media and entertainment.
On February 3, Lauren covered The Legacy Classics, an annual double-header basketball event founded by Michael B. Jordan, showcasing four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This event celebrates HBCU culture through dynamic school band performances, Greek life showcases, college recruitment opportunities, and alumni networking, providing a full day of entertainment and education for attendees of all ages.
In the lead-up to the event, Lauren was featured in a promotional commercial aired on the TNT Network.
Black is Gold University is a peer mentoring organization for collegiate women, dedicated to the personal and professional development of its members. Since 2022, I have served in various leadership roles, including Fundraising Chair, Brand Yo(U) Event Chair, Assistant Director, and ultimately, Director of Career Planning and Professional Development.
Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as the Brand Yo(U) Event Coordinator for the 2025 Conference. My goals were to ensure that each attendee felt empowered to achieve their personal and professional aspirations, create a culture that was inclusive and welcoming, and provide immersive, growth-focused experiences. With over 100 attendees, we secured partnerships with prominent brands such as The Beauty Gennie, Ashunta Sheriff Beauty, Dosso Beauty, The Bayport Credit Union, and The Hampton Urban League.
To promote professional development and career opportunities for Hampton University students in the Northern region, Lauren spearheaded a partnership with Dow Jones to host a panel discussion on career growth and opportunities within the multimedia sales industry. As President of the North Pre-Alumni Council, Lauren led this initiative to support students who may have limited access to corporate opportunities and industry knowledge.
